We won a Certificate of Excellence from the Cat Writers Association!

Lola: Hello and Happy Wednesday! We have exciting news for you today!  *chases tail in a circle*

Lexy: Lola, calm down! You'll  make yourself dizzy!

Lola: *plops down* I'm just so excited! You tell everyone, Lexy, while I catch my breath.

Lexy: Ahem... We are happy to announce that Lola The Rescued Cat has won two Certificates of Excellence from the Cat Writer's Association for two of our blog posts.

Lola: Woo hoo!

Lexy: This is an honor, and we are proud to be a part of such a great organization. Now, I think Mother would like to say a few words.

Dawn: Thank you, Lexy, I'll take it from here. Yes, this is indeed exciting news. The two blog posts that won the certificates are Stressed by the Vet? Try a Cat Friendly Practice and Tabby's Place. I'm over the top happy that the post about Tabby's Place was recognized. Our regular readers already know how much I love TP, and I'm always happy to help spread the word about them and share the cats that live there. I'm also proud of the Cat Friendly Practice post because I put a lot of thought and effort into it.

Lola at the vet.

I’ve been blogging for about…

Lola: WE, Mommy! WE’VE been blogging!

Dawn: Yes, Lola, you’re right. I stand corrected. Excuse me… we’ve been blogging regularly (or semi-regularly) since December 2014, and sometimes I’m astounded at how much I have learned. My Our posts have improved considerably in both content and quality. My writing style continues to develop, and grammar and punctuation have definitely improved. (Although I am still working on the "no more double spacing after a period" rule.)

Dolce (Lola's doppelganger) from Tabby's Place. Dolce now has a forever home.

One thing I learned early on is that blogging is hard! It’s not easy to keep a blog current, relevant and engaging. It’s time consuming and can be a full-time job by itself. Bloggers blog because we have a passion for something. It could be sharing our cute cats with the world, helping others be the best pet parents they can be or anything in between. I’m always in awe of how many dedicated bloggers there are that share their passion with their audience.

Beautiful Faye of Tabby's Place

Congratulations to all of the winners of Certificates of Excellence, and I wish everyone the best of luck at the awards ceremony in May. I’m honored to be in your company.

Lola: Lexy, I bet next year WE can win a Certificate of Excellence for one of our posts! We write pretty good.

Lexy: Very well, Lola. We write very well.

Lola: I’m glad you agree!

  8. Congratulations to all of you! Blogging can certainly be challenging ... you have to be a jack-of-all-trades. And I've learned that one is never done ... there's always more to do ... from commenting on other blogs to writing new posts to updating design ... it's hard to ever feel a job's well done. The certificate is well-deserved.

  11. Congratulations, that really is quite an honour. You're right, blogging is hard work and can be a full time job. Of course we all do it for the love of our animals, and sharing with others, but it's definitely nice to be recognised. Well done!
