Our New Bookcase

Hello, and Happy Monday! Back in September I reported on how a big mess ruined my bird watching photo shoot. Part of the mess was our broken bookcase. Mommy couldn't decide if she was going to buy a new bookcase or buy a cat tree for Lexy or me. Well, she finally made up her mind. And it's not a cat tree.

The new bookcase came from Ikea and had to be put together. There sure were a lot of parts!

It's a good thing I was there to help Will. I had everything under control.

I think Will and I did a great job! It's not a bad bookcase.

Then Mommy had to put everything back into it. Can you believe all of this junk came out of the old broken one?

This is a little embarrassing so let's move on.

It may not be a cool cat tree, but I have to admit it looks a lot better in the background than that old broken bookcase.

Don't you agree?

Now if only I could get Mommy to raise the blinds so I can see outside.

Sigh... what's a kitty to do?

  5. You could use the new bookcase as a cat tree. It needs a nice comfy bed on top.

  9. LOLA! You gotta have a tree or at least the blinds raised.

  10. Poor Lola! She really knows how to turn on the charm. I couldn't say no to that face! By the way, Lola, Bear says you can take care of the blinds yourself if you chew the ends off the slats. You can make the perfect hole to stick your head through or to pass to the other side. Let's just say we're not getting the security deposit on our rental back.

  11. no cat tree! Well you might want to scratch that bookcase and see how it goes! Might almost be as fun!

  12. A new bookcase instead of a new cat tree??? Where did you go wrong? Actually, it does look very nice, and it gives you a nice perch too!

  13. Maybe your mom could attach climbing shelves up the side of the bookcase or even the wall beside it so you can climb up to the top of the bookcase to survey your domain. Add some scratchy pads and a bed and you have the best of both worlds.

  14. Lola, that look on your face is too funny! I think you should just turn the bookcase into a cat tree. And btw, I like it! I may have to look for that one next time I'm at Ikea.

  15. Well it looks like there's still room beside the bookcase for a cat tree or better yet - in front of that window! Tee hee hee! Tell your momma how pretty you would look on a cat tree. Purrs & winks.
