Throwback Thursday - Me and My String!

Hello, and Happy Thursday Purrsday! For today's throwback, I dug way back into our photo archive. Today I'm taking you back to November 2011! One of my favorite things was my shoelace and I used to take it with me everywhere.

I'd walk around the house with it in my mouth while I was meowing. I wanted everyone to know it was my string.

Mommy tried to hide it, but I used to find it.

Then she put it away somewhere I could never get into. I thought that was mean, but she said she worried about me having a string when I wasn't supervised. Hey! I was about a year and a half old! I didn't need supervision!

I was only allowed to play with my string when she was home. I still say it wasn't fair.

I hope you liked my throwback today. Did you have a favorite toy when you were younger?

  2. That string looks like fun! I'm still young enough that my favorite toys from when I was a kitten (the Neko Flies Cattipede, for example) are still my favorites.

  3. Apart from his Scruffy Rat, string was the only thing Eric played with.

  4. I never got into string until the last two years. Now, since the bird fell off Da Bird permanently, mom was about to throw the rod away when I started playing with the string! I have more fun with Stringy than I ever did with Da Bird. IT's my favorite.

  5. Some of the best toys are those that aren't really intended to be toys. We don't play with string often. Zoey is the only one here that the mom has to watch carefully with it since she likes to eat it.

  6. We have a cat know who snips through anything shaped like a shoelace, phone charging card (we've lost a few), and so on. It's the weirdest thing. It's like her jaws are little scissors. We had to put bitter stuff on all the cords in house.

  8. Your mom was right although you looked adorable with it! Mudpie's favorite toy is still her animal print mousie that she got just a couple weeks after I adopted her :)

  10. Aww, I can't believe she took your favorite toy from you! Maybe she'll surprise you with a new shoelace some day.

  11. Bear had a similar string (tied together fabric shreds) he'd take EVERYWHERE with him. To eat ... in the litter box ... to drink ... He'd flip out if he didn't have it. I guess he outgrew it because I don't even know where it is anymore. You are adorable, Lola - you and Bear are so similar.

  12. Oh yeah, Lola! String is lots of fun! Sadly, our mom and dad don't let us play with it unsupervised, either. - Gracie and Ava

  13. Hey Lola, we bet you and that string have some great memories together. We think that if you were a year and a half old you are able to have your own string to yourself. We love the photos you shared. Have a great day.

  14. Um, yeah...Chucky loved anything stringy, and once he ate a rope toy and we rushed him to the vet, we too hid any stringy toys to prevent that again!

  15. Lola, you are adorable with your string, but your mom was right about the supervision. Your safety is the most important. The kitties here aren't really into string, but my kitty, Lucy, loved it and ingested some string before we had a chance to stop her and she had to have surgery. It's so cute how you curled up with your string and are lying on it.
