Saying Goodbye To Our Old Couch

Hello, and Happy Monday! You know, since I've lived here with Mommy and Lexy little things have changed here and there. Like the computer desk changed a few times, and then we got that DVD cabinet that Mommy hated for years. Just little stuff, nothing major.

But then a couple of weeks ago, Mommy said we were getting a new couch!

But I really like our old couch! It's the only couch I've ever known.

And it's the first place I ever stretched out and really relaxed after being rescued.

There's nothing wrong with this couch, so why do we need a new one? So it's kinda old, so what? It's still comfy. And it has a lot of my fur on it. I'm going to miss it.

I'm gonna have to work super hard to get my fur all over a new couch.

I wonder if this old couch will miss me, too?

Please excuse the mess while we redecorate!

Looks like I should have said goodbye to everything! What's going on here?

Do your humans make changes, too?
Lola

P.s. We'd like to apologize for not visiting all of our friends very much lately. Mommy has been working A LOT. We miss everyone and appreciate that you still visit us.

Would you like to comment?

  1. Our humans try not to make changes in the house, but sometimes these things can't be helped. Right?

  2. Our humans make some changes from time to time, but not too much fortunately ! We don't like it, and as you said, it's a lot of extra-work to re-fur all the new furnitures. Purrs

  4. Could moving be next? There are mega moves happening for many of us physically and metaphorically.

  5. We agree that changing couches must be very traumatic. This has never happened to us and #1 tells us it won't happen anytime soon. Phew!

  6. Dang, I know what you mean, I hear there might be new furniture in our future too. Not too soon I hope!

  7. When we got new couches (yeah, we got 2 of them), we made the mom keep on of the old ones (yeah, 2 were being replaced). She put it in the basement so we could crawl on it.

  8. If there is a new couch, then think of all the good times ahead, rubbing your furs and scent into the new fabric!

  9. You should have stayed on the couch so they couldn't remove it.

  10. I feel bad for you and the old couch. I am sure you will like the new one though.

  11. Just think how much softer a new couch will be, especially the fun of having all new places to fill with further! I miss you and Lexy when I don't see you as often, but sometimes humans just have to keep 2-footed bosses happy, too. And she is always happy to come home to you!

  12. Lola, if anycat is up to the task of furring the new couch, we know you are the pro. But you do look awfully adorable on the couch - enough that I'd feel horrible taking it from you!

  13. We are finally getting a couch later today! The mom has had nowheres to sit her rear end for over a year now! Hers has been sitting on the floor to do all of her work, MOL!! It looks like we will all be busy putting furs on new couches!

  14. I promise you that the couch WILL miss you. I hate changes to things that are mine like that and that I have worked so hard on. BUT the new couch WILL be yours. You will tame it and have it in apple pie order. I know. XXX

  17. New couches can be super fun because you can rub your smells and fur all over them! You are right, you are going to have fun making them yours!
