The Animal Dynamics© With Coryelle Kramer

Many people in the pet world may be familiar with Coryelle Kramer, who is an animal communicator. (Especially if you attended the BlogPaws conference in 2018.) Coryelle and I became fast friends through our sessions with Lola and Lexy, which are always very insightful and helpful. She has recently expanded her work to include something very exciting, and we’re both happy to share it with you today.

For those who may not be familiar with what animal communication is, Coryelle explains that it is “basically talking to your animal to find out answers to your questions.” These can be questions about their behaviors, the way they see the world, if they are experiencing health issues, or if it’s their time to transition. Through animal communication, you can find out answers to questions you would not ordinarily be able to.

Coryelle has taken her work to a new level by identifying the Animal Dynamics©. Before working with The Animal Dynamics, Coryelle considered her work to be “straight animal communication.” Most of her sessions in the past were limited to 60 minutes at most. Coryelle found that although these sessions were effective, they were limiting because they did not allow the animal to fully get over the issues they were working on (particularly if it was a behavioral issue.)

Coryelle relates this to a person who goes to counseling. “You don’t really expect [the issue] to get taken care of in one session” she explains. Although Coryelle was very effective in what she did, if the issue was deeper, 60-minute single sessions did not give her enough time to really get to the root cause.

Coryelle’s sessions are now untimed because she does not want to limit herself to a  specific duration, which is more beneficial to the animal (and their person!) And with consistent weekly sessions, she is better able to get to the root of the animal’s issue. “We work within the animal’s time and at their pace.”

Coryelle's cats - Tau (L) a Direct and Demanding, and Sacred (R) a Sensory.

Coryelle says that adding in The Animal Dynamics to her work "is a game changer. I can now show my clients how to make their relationship with their animal even more spectacular.”

What are The Animal Dynamics©?

The Animal Dynamics are personality archetypes for animals, with each archetype having a Plus Spectrum and a Minus Spectrum. According to Coryelle, “When an archetype is in Minus Spectrum, negative or discordant behaviors can occur.” This can include dominance, biting, scratching, intense fear, separation anxiety, and aggression, to name only a few.

Coryelle has identified six personality archetypes. You can see these below, with just a few of the many personality traits of each.

The Direct and Demanding

Plus Spectrum

  • They do what they want when they want, and how they want.
  • They are not afraid to challenge you at every turn.
  • They are super loving.

Minus Spectrum

  • It can be hard to keep up with them, and everything they are demanding of you.
  • They crave a lot of attention.
  • They can be misjudged as being too pushy or a bully.

The Energetic

Plus Spectrum

  • They enjoy it when they have your full presence, so when you’re with them, be with them.
  • They are super sensitive to energies, so they might know exactly when someone’s not feeling well, or if they’re unhappy, and will go to them to help them feel better.
  • They like things done at their pace, on their terms, and when they’re ready for it.

Minus Spectrum

  • You may think they are skittish or frightened, but they’re only being approached incorrectly.
  • They can become overwhelmed with too much touch or stimulation and can react very aggressively to get the touch to stop.
  • They like their space, so they might be thought of as standoffish, cold, or unfriendly, and thus be passed up for adoption when their Dynamic may simply need to be understood.

The Rule Breaker

Plus Spectrum

  • They are very adventurous; they’re up for adventure any time, anywhere!
  • They like to add drama (not in a bad way) to situations; they like excitement.
  • They are super friendly and see everybody as their buddy.

Minus Spectrum

  • They can be very Type A animals, overly dominant, protective, guarding.
  • They get bored easily, so they need a lot of attention and stimulation.
  • They can try the patience of their people.

The Sensory

Plus Spectrum

  • They love to snuggle into soft comfy things, and they could hog the comfy blankets or spaces in the home, so get ready to share!
  • They experience the world intensely, using all their senses, touch, sounds, taste, smells. It helps to keep that in mind when interacting with them.
  • They love fiercely and strongly, and they love to show it when they are ready to.

Minus Spectrum

  • They are very tuned into their senses, which could lead to them being scared of loud noises.
  • They may be perceived as standoffish, unfriendly, disinterested, and unloving, but they simply need time to adjust all their senses to the situation.
  • They can be very sensitive to energy or things “invading their space.”

The Shifter

Plus Spectrum

  • They have big personalities because they have a little of all the Dynamics!
  • They love to play and play and play endlessly, which means they are super fun to be around.
  • You never know from one day to the next the personality you’re going to get.

Minus Spectrum

  • Because they can play endlessly, they may need a lot of time and exercise dedicated to them.
  • They can be unpredictable.
  • They can be misunderstood and thought to be “too much” in the way they behave.

The Transcendent

Plus Spectrum

  • They can be thought of as extremely wise.
  • They like harmony among the others they share their life with.
  • They are calm, cool, collected, and extremely Zen

Minus Spectrum

  • They do things in their own time, which could be frustrating to some pet parents.
  • If they deem that you’re too much in your own head and not fully present with them, they aren’t afraid to let you know it by doing things like getting up on your desk while you’re working or on a zoom call or climbing up onto your lap when you’re stressed or overthinking something too much, nudging you or barking or meowing at you while you’re with them, etc.
  • They might be misunderstood and labeled high maintenance.

According to Coryelle, “An animal’s personality can be made up of one or more of the archetypes, which can be combined in multitudes of ways that exactly describe their personality. The Dynamics are the very essence of who they are.”

How Can Identifying Your Pet's Dynamic Help You and Your Pet?

Once your pet’s Dynamic has been identified, it can help you to better understand them and connect with them on a deeper and more meaningful level.  “The Animal Dynamics can then be used to show their person how to interact, play with, touch, and speak to their animal according to that particular Dynamic,” says Coryelle, “making their already strong relationship even deeper and more fun.”

Understanding the Minus Spectrum is also helpful because it can help lead to the understanding of behavioral issues as well as solutions, which can result in incredible and rapid change by treating the animal according to their Dynamic.

Each Dynamic also has its own specific preferences for touch and play, as well as words and tone of voice that are used with them. For example, the Direct and Demanding One loves belly rubs, being spoken to in an enthusiastic tone of voice, being told “you’re awesome!”, and loves tennis balls and puzzle toys.

Q & A With Coryelle

Coryelle sat down with me for a Q&A to answer some questions about The Animal Dynamics.

DW: Can you explain what an archetype is?

CK: Webster’s dictionary defines an archetype as a “perfect example” of something. The Animal Dynamics are perfect examples or representations of animals’ personalities.

DW: How do you identify an animal’s Dynamic?

CK: By opening up a dialogue with the animal. When I do that, their personality immediately comes rushing through. It’s the same experience for humans; when you talk with a person, you begin to get a sense of who they are (unless they don’t want to show who they are to you). I then use my knowledge of the different Dynamics to determine the best way to approach them, both metaphysically (if I’m not physically with them) or physically (if I am with them). Discovering what their personalities are is my “doorway” to really understanding and connecting to them.

DW: What types of animals have you worked with so far with The Dynamics?

CK: Cats (of course), horses, a wide variety of dog breeds, parrots, goats, guinea pigs, and even reptiles like geckos and snakes.

DW: Can you tell me one story of an animal that had a major breakthrough or change during your Animal Dynamics work with them?

CK: Aside from your girls, Dawn, I would say that the story of a cat named Naia would be the next one that comes to my mind. Her person contacted me because Naia was attacking her by scratching and biting her severely enough to draw blood. As you know, a cat’s bite can be life-threatening if they puncture the skin, and Naia was attacking her person (for no apparent reason) several times a day. Through my connection with her, I discovered that Naia’s Dynamic was Energetic and was in the Minus Spectrum because of the people she was spending time with, including her person’s daughter who happened to be dealing with some very strong negative feelings towards her mom. Naia was being bombarded by not only the energy of her person, who was going through a turbulent time but also by the energies of others that were surrounding her person.

Beautiful Naia

Once we cleared the energy of the house, and I taught Naia’s person techniques to clear her own personal energy, the attacks ceased, which was an indication both for me and her person that that was the answer. I certainly can’t prove this was the answer, but Naia went from attacking her person several times a day, every day, for months, and as soon as the energy calmed down in the house and around her person the attacks stopped. What else could it be?

DW: You state that The Animal Dynamics are also bringing animal communication and animal interaction to a higher, more exciting place. How?

CK: It’s simple. The Dynamics gives you the tools to get to know your animal in ways unlike anything you’ve done before. You can use them to know the best tone of voice to use with them, the best pet names to call them, what kind of food they dislike or love the most (and why), their favorite places to be touched on their body, and those places you should avoid, how to approach them so they are the most receptive to you and other people, why they act the way they do. The Dynamics answer so many questions, and they give you so many wondrous ways to show your animal even more love!

I have found it absolutely fascinating, and it has changed all of our lives and the way we interact with each other. Coryelle doesn’t only work with your animals individually, she works with the family as a unit. The energy in our house has definitely shifted, and I experienced a change in myself as well!

In 2015, she took a course that explored a framework for different types of human       personalities and realized that animals, too, have distinct personality types. She identified   these as six “Animal Dynamics©,” and these have redefined and transformed the art of animal communication. By understanding an animal’s personality, a human can adapt their actions, words, touches, tone, environment, and more to work with rather than fight against their animal’s innate behavior. The results have been extraordinary.

In her “Dynamic” work she addresses animal behavior, reveals potential health issues, and uses her own brand of powerful Energetic Healing. She is passionate about showing people how to connect to their animals using her Dynamics techniques in order to take their relationships to an even deeper, more profound level.

Coryelle is featured regularly on TV, radio shows, podcasts, and in print. She speaks and mentors on subjects including animal communication, and energetic healing while continuing her one-on-one work with clients.

  9. So interesting! I found myself trying to match my two dogs to the personality archetypes, but I didn't feel like any 1 of the archetypes fully fit them. I think, maybe, my senior boy would be a combo of "direct and demanding" and "sensory". My younger dog I think would maybe be a combo of "energetic" and "rule breaker". Together the two of them are quite the duo, and they keep me on my toes for sure - but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'll be sure to check out Coryelle's FB page and Youtube channel! Thanks for sharing. :)

This is such an amazing idea and using an animal's energies and their people's energies to rebalance things is going to make a huge difference to so many pet's lives.

    Thank you Coryelle and Dawn.

  11. This does sound interesting! Manna and Dexter definitely have parts of "The Rule Breaker" in them. Dexter has some behavior issues, but I don't blame him, I blame myself. I see a lot of their personalities in my personality. It makes sense because I spend so much time with them.

    1. Hi Robin, Those Rule Breakers certainly can keep life interesting! It's not uncommon for like to attract like, so the fact that you have animal's in your life who's personalities reflect yours, I've found to be very natural. It's also true that we also have animals in our life who's personality is something we ASPIRE to be ourselves.
Thank you for sharing about Dexter and don't blame yourself, he is who he wants to be.

WOW really interesting, I am so trying to understand why recently Layla has become a barker which she was not in the past and I know she is over 14 years old but I wish I could get to the bottom of this issue. Nothing has changed in our house or routine. Have followed her on YouTube and FB and going to check into this more. THanks

    1. Hi Layla's Person, if you think that I can be of any help, please feel free to contact me through my site www.coryellekramer.com. You may have already done this but in case you haven't... taking Layla for a vet visit to make sure it's not physical is something I would suggest. If you do make sure they do a full blood panel and move her major joints around to see if she has any physical reaction. Possibly also include X-rays of her spinal column too.

I don't mean to frighten you, I don't sense anything but this is simply just making 100% sure she'physically ok.

  13. This is so interesting! My dog, Theo, seems to be The Sensory-Plus Spectrum. When we first adopted him, he had some of the minus spectrum, but he has moved past those qualities now that he knows he is safe and in his forever home. I think Nelly might be the Transcendent plus spectrum.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Beth, Congratulations on helping Theo move from the minus to plus spectrum for the Sensory!
You did great work with him on that, many times when the Sensory is in the minus spectrum they just needs to know and feel safe. Doing that can alleviate many of their issues.

And having a Transcendent in your life can also be a wake up call to tune in more deeply spiritually. They love to show you how to be as zen as they are.

  14. Wow! I never heard of Animal Dynamics before. Hmm...my cat Dusty had the personality type of
The Transcendent. She was definitely wise, cool, calm and collected. Nothing really rattled her. She was such a zen chill kitty. I think this is exacly why most everyone fell in love with her when she was alive. Miss her.

    1. Hi Kamira Gayle, another of the The Transcendent's traits is that people and other animals are VERY drawn to them and love to be with them as much as possible, sounds like Dusty was like that. My heart cat PC (short for Perfect Cat) was one as well and I miss her madly. Thanks for sharing about Dusty.

  16. I have never heard of this but it is interesting. I did find that breed predisposition is only one of predictors of the dog's personality. Each of our Rotties were different individuals with vastly different personalities.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Dawgblogger, EXACTLY! breed dispositions only play a SMALL part in the total makeup of an animal's personality. This is why I feel the Animal Dynamics can (and are) changing the world, they will revolutionize how people see animals. They're not cookie cutters, no two animals are alike. Animals (like people) are unique and one of a kind. Utilizing the Dynamics, one can no longer see an animals as anything but.
