8 Holiday Gifts That Give Back to Animals

Hello, everyone. This is Lexy checking in with some fabulous gift ideas for all of your loved ones on your Christmas list this year. This is not any ordinary list, though. Every gift on this list gives back to animals! Wrapping up one of these items is a win-win for everyone; you choose a great present that the recipient will love, and animals benefit, too. Lola and I hope you like the choices we’ve purrsonally curated.

8 Gifts That Give Back to Animals

1. Rescue Chocolate

Rescue Chocolate is based right here in New York City. Sarah Gross Feoli immediately fell in love with a pit bull looking for a forever home, who turned out to be her inspiration. In 2010, Sarah decided to merge two of her loves, chocolate and helping animals, and Rescue Chocolate was born.

Rescue_Chocolate

From each chocolate purchased, 100% of the net profits are donated to animal rescue organizations around the country. Each packaging of each flavor of this vegan chocolate sheds light on a different facet of the pet overpopulation problem. Rescue Chocolate not only raised funds for rescues, but they spread the word about the fixable problems related to over population. (And you know that rings a bell in our hearts here at Lola The Rescued Cat!)

You can see a list of who they help here, and purchase yours here.  And don’t forget to add a few in your cart just for yourself! Bundles start at $36 and gift collections start at $25.

2. Grounds & Hounds Coffee

The folks at Grounds & Hounds believe that coffee can fuel a greater purpose. They support rescued initiatives and organizations providing a second chance to dogs by donating 20% of their profits to them.

Grounds & Hounds’ coffee is organic and eco-friendly. There are lots of kinds to choose from, including single origins, blends, single-serve pods, and specialty blends (like their seasonal releases.) https://groundsandhoundscoffee.com/collections/seasonal-coffee-releases You can also find some other cool stuff on their site like mugs, brewing gear, and even stuff for the favorite dog in your life. Hop on over to their site to place your order. Prices start at $14.99.

3. Kitnip Box

The KitNipBox is a monthly subscription box full of toys, treats, and goodies for a lucky feline. You can give a gift for one month, three months, six months, or a year. Prices range from $19.99 per month to $29.00 per month, depending on the level you purchase. Their boxes contain the best high-quality cat toys, all-natural treats, and other fun, healthy cat products. You can make your gift selection here

KitNip_Box

KitNipBox supports over 100 animal welfare organizations worldwide by donating a portion of their proceeds. And they just happen to support some of our faves, such as The Paw Project, Wayside Waifs, Brooklyn Animal Action, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, and many more.

If you have a person on your list that is hard to buy for and already has everything, give them a gift for their pet!

4. Rescue Candles

Rescue candles are hand-poured using domestically grown 100% soy wax and scented with high-quality essential oils. Katie and Dave Fallon donate 20% of their net proceeds to animal rescue organization fundraisers. And each purchase comes with a donation card so you know exactly where your donation went. How cool is that?

You can order your candle from their Etsy store.  There are fantastic scents to choose from, including Blueberry Muffin, Cardamon and Fig, Orange and Vanilla, and Christmas Tree (in addition to so many more!) They also have an option for a pet memorial candle with a photo of the beloved pet on the front of the jar. The price is $24.99 for an 8-ounce candle.

5. Custom Pet Caricature

The Washington County-Johnson City Animal Shelter https://wcjcanimalshelter.org/ is selling custom pet caricatures to raise funds this holiday season. The cost is $25 and ordering is very easy. First, make the donation through PayPal, then send them a photo and the name of the pet via messaging them through their Facebook Page. Local pickup is free, but there will be a shipping fee if you’re not local. What a fantastic gift to give to a human who loves their pet!
