Catit PIXI Spinner and Senses Mushroom - Purrfect Holiday Gifts for Your Cat

Christmas is right around the corner, and some cat parents may be looking for last minute gifts for their furry loved ones. Look no further, because I have two fabulous recommendations for you.

I've worked with Catit several times in the past, and I have always had a good experience with their products. The PIXI Spinner and the Senses Mushroom lived up to Catit's reputation. Let me tell you a little about each one.

Catit PIXI Spinner

The PIXI Spinner is an interactive toy that dispenses treats. It also has a cute night light so kitty can see the toy in a darkened room.

At the touch of your cat's paw the feather will start to spin, and your cat can bat it around to dispense the treats that are placed in the base. The paw activation will automatically enter standby mode between play sessions to save power. The Catit PIXI Spinner has a built-in power switch and battery compartment for three AAA batteries (which are not included.)

PIXI Spinner Features:

  • Spins at intervals at your cat's touch.
  • Randomly dispenses treats.
  • The rapid spinning motion makes the feather flutter in different directions, stimulating your cat to chase it.
  • Cat nose and whiskers light up during play.
  • Fabric cover and feather are easily replaceable.
  • Automatically enters standby mode between your cat's play sessions to conserve battery power.
  • Available in two colors.

Catit Senses Mushroom

The Senses Mushroom is a  fast-paced feather toy with built-in sensors that pick up on your cat's movements. The feather is triggered to pop out of a random opening, starting the chase.

You can set the Senses Mushroom to continuous or sensor mode. When set on sensor mode the toy will activate only when it picks up on movement. When no movement is detected, it will automatically switch to standby mode.

The Senses Mushroom requires three AA batteries (which are not included), and the feather can be easily replaced.

Senses Mushroom Features:

  • Offers cats 360° of hunting and playing.
  • Gets cats moving! Triggers your cat to hunt from all directions.
  • Features eight openings, which the feather randomly pops out of.
  • Feather is easily replaceable.
  • Features two built-in light sensors that detect your cat’s movement near the toy. When a change in brightness is registered, the feather will start randomly popping out of the openings covering the toy.
  • Easily switch between continuous and sensor modes with the switch on the front of the toy.
  • A wonderful addition to the Senses Playground line of toys.

Lola and Lexy's Opinions

What did Lola and Lexy think of the PIXI Spinner and the Senses Mushroom? See for yourself!

They both give the PIXI Spinner and the Senses Mushroom two paws up. One day I forgot to turn the mushroom on, and Lola just sat there staring at it, waiting for the feather to pop out.

I also caught Lexy batting the Spinner around looking for a treat, but unfortunately for her, it was empty. (I didn't have my phone or my camera handy to catch that moment.)

Where You can Purchase the PIXI Spinner and the Senses Mushroom

Both toys are available on the Catit website. The Senses Mushroom sells for $58.00 and the PIXI Spinner sells for $29.99. Catit ships to various countries, so if you're reading this from outside of the USA, check to see if they deliver to you.

You can also purchase both on Amazon. The silver PIXI Spinner is currently $27.48 and the Senses Mushroom is $59.99. Both have a shipment date of arriving before Christmas. So don't wait!

  5. Both look like such fun toys, June has had one interactive toy previously and just
ran it into the "proverbial round" from so much play! I'd enter for her, but never once have been able to figure out "how to do" the rafflecopter thing successfully (duh me) but am sure there will be some happy kitty out there this Cat-Mouse!
