That Mess Ruined My Photo Shoot!

Hello, and Happy Monday! We've mostly been posting about informational topics lately and haven't been sharing a lot of photos of our day to day activities. There may be a reason for that.

This photo shoot I'm going to share with you could have been a great post of me bird watching, but there are a couple of problems. I could live with the unmade bed, but the pillow on the floor - not so much. It takes all the attention off of me.

See what I mean? I could have started out by saying "guess what I'm looking at?" But you'd probably be looking at that pillow on the floor.

This angle is even worse, thanks to our broken bookcase. Mommy can't decide if she's going to buy a new one or get rid of all of the junk inside of it and buy us a cat tree. I vote for a cat tree. I wish she'd hurry up and make up her mind.

Even from this angle, I can still see the bookcase is broken - even if she tries to hide it.

I can smell the birdies.

Yep, they're right there.

Wow! Look at them go!

Sigh... maybe soon this room will be put together.

So kitties, do you ever have missed photo opportunities because your person is messy?

Lola

  1. My human is ALWAYS shooting photos around some mess or another. It's why you almost never see any photos taken in our office.

  7. First of all, we vote for a cat tree for you and Lexy. Second, we think the next to the last photo is wonder purr and funny. Third, our Mom just crops out as much junk from photos as possible and then retouches them to get rid of things like litter on rugs. But then you couldn't dis your mom if she did that. 8. Every. Single. Day. Still, you steal the show, Lola. If you hadn't pointed out the mess we never wouldn't seen past you :) We vote for the cat tree too!

  9. CAT TREE! But meanwhile you looked awfully good and sweet too while telling us your day. I never even noticed anything but you and your stripes. xoxox

  10. We have that problem here. That's why nearly all of the photos in the house are in one room. It is the least cluttered.

    ReplyDelete
  11. You are still the star of all the photos!
The Mom says there is no way for it NOT to look cluttered in here - in our 10x12 studio! She has to do some work to get us in photos without a bunch of other stuff in them, MOL.
By the way, we vote your human get you a cat tree, too!

  12. That is my life, Lola. Welcome to it.

  13. LOL! This is the story of my life!!!! My humans have lots of clutter, too!

  14. Kudos to your mom for posting Real Life photos. Yeah, the messy pillow and book case distracts from you, but it's Life. At my house there are a lot of missed opportunities because of lighting. House shoots dark. Plus we usually do cute stuff at night, and stop doing cute stuff when she reaches for her camera. Life with Kitties!

  15. Lola some of our best photos have been put to the side because the Dad has his junk in view or worse yet has not cleaned the floor in too too long. Sigh... I guess pawrents just have their faults...
    But on a fun note!
I got your wonderful book! Thank you so much for pawtographing it to me and Dad and the family. All the fun things are very cool and I love your magnet and book mark. I know I will play with the pen as that is my thing to do with Dad. We were so glad to help others and now have fun things
    Thank You Very Much

  16. ALL. THE. TIME. My Momma has a unique talent for catching my litter box in the background. The litter box that's been in the same place for 10+ years. Maybe it's because my litter box is in the same room where we spend all our time ... but I like to chuckle because all those pictures she steals from me are ruined by it. You know what, Lola?! Honestly, we wouldn't have noticed the mess if you hadn't mentioned it. Really. We were too busy admiring you, your expressions (especially that zen one of you in the sun), and those darling white socks.

  17. I really am so glad to hear that other people have clutter. I’ve been putting off creating a blog because I can’t get a good picture not showing the mess. Now all I need to do is learn photoshop and clean up a little and I’m good to go! Thanks for being real all you cats !

  18. We didn't even notice until you pointed stuff out, Lola. We were too busy gawking at beautiful YOU! :)

  19. Ha ha MOL this post gave me a good laugh. But you, Lola, against any background is gorgeous no matter the clutter.

  20. MOL! You're too funny, Lola. But I didn't notice a thing because YOU are in the photos!

  21. The house is currently undergoing renovation so there are practically no uncluttered spots for us to take photos right now! That might explain why I haven't felt like taking photos lately.

  22. What mess? Everybody is looking at the kitty, nobody is looking at the mess :-)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Too funny! Yes, my human is always moving furniture and stuff around so that it's not in the photo! But, in your case, all I could look at was your beautiful green eyes, Lola!

    ReplyDelete
  24. hahaha You crack me up Lola. Ya, I don't think I would have noticed anything, with you in front of me. You have such a great face.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ROFL you made me laugh so much as I take pics of Layla and then look at the mess around her and go oy vey - but yes we vote for a cat tree its more important than a book case. Love the pics

  26. LOL I found myself laughing out loud reading this post. Too funny. Despite your "messy human" I was more enchanted by your adorable face. Well there's always tomorrow to try again right?

  27. I can't tell you how many times I have taken pictures, only to not post them because of messiness in the background.. LOL! Water bottles, destuffed toys, dog hair... This is part of the reason why most of our pictures are outside in the woods.. HAHAHA

  28. We have a visitor coming from Arizona and the place is SO MESSY we are starting to tidy up NOW (yep RIGHT NOW!! I spend half my time editing stuff out of photographs or adding decorative stuff to hide stuff. Trust me Lola you are NOT alone.

But Mom, get rid of the bookcase OK? The cat tree gets a paws up from us.

  29. So cute! Looks like Lola is having a great day. Beautiful pictures despite the background.

  30. All the time. We try to crop stuff out and use the clone tool!

  31. I stopped taking as many photos of Bernie and Lizzie at home because we've been making so many changes and the photo backdrop is a hot mess! I'm totally fine with this situation because it just means that I have to get out with the pups more often and remember to document our local travels. As a kitty, though, I imagine having an environment as pristine as your coat is important to you. Bernie and Lizzie hope you get your cat tree, Lola!

  32. That doesn't just happen to my dogs, but also to my kids! It was tough on me when my kids got their phones and starting posting photos on their Facebook pages at first. I finally realized I either needed to clean more, or just not worry what my teenager's friends think!

  33. Lola, you're singing my song! It's often a hot mess here, too! Trying to get the house in order, literally so there won't have to be so much cropping, etc. of photos. Hope you get the cat tree, Lola. Maybe your human is planning to give it to you as a gift.

  34. Love that picture of you looking up. It's super cute. Sorry that the mess ruined your shoot. We have that problem too! Us humans really need to clean up!
