Remember Me Thursday is 9/23/2021 - Here's How You Can Participate

Hello, and Happy Thursday Purrsday! Lexy and I are very excited that it's September. Can you guess why? Never mind, I'll just tell you. One of our favorite things to celebrate and participate in, Remember Me Thursday, is right around the corner and we're super excited to partner with Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC) to host the fourth annual Remember Me Thursday Blog Hop. (Don't forget to scroll to the bottom to see how to join.)

We've been participating in the Remember Me Thursday movement since 2016 and hosting the Blog Hop since 2018. This day is very important to us because we want to use our voices to be advocats to save animals in shelters. You can catch up on all of our Remember Me Thursday posts here.

Ever since I adopted Lola in January 2011, I've made it a point to advocate for shelter cats and encourage adoption. In addition to our blog, I accomplish this through our Facebook page, our book, and through being a contributing writer for the Jackson Galaxy Project's Cat Pawsitive Pro Program. It brings me great joy to write about how shelters and rescues work hard to shine a light on cats who may be considered "unadoptable" so they are not forgotten and forced to live their lives in a shelter setting.

Happy Thursday Purrsday! Lexy and I are purring today because we are excited to be partnering again this year with Helen Woodward Animal Center (HWAC) to host our annual Blog Hop for Remember Me Thursday. 

As former shelter cats who were once forgotten, the Remember Me Thursday movement is very important to us, and we are always proud to shine the light on shelter pets who are waiting for their forever homes.

Today is a very important day in the rescue/advocacy world. Today is Remember Me Thursday, a day where light is shined on and attention is brought to pets in rescues and shelters waiting for their forever homes. It stresses the importance of animal adoption because 2.7 million orphan shelter pets lose their lives without ever finding their forever homes. Alarmingly, only 30% of household pets in the U.S. come from rescue facilities. Only 30%! That number is disturbing to me. There are so many shelters and rescues in the country that are at full capacity, and cannot take in another animal. That means that animal will most likely remain on the street.

Why Lexy Writes to Save Lives - #RememberMeThursday 2018

Hello, everyone. This is Lexy checking in for Remember Me Thursday. Lola, Mother, and I are very proud to be partnering with Helen Woodward Animal Center to promote this important day! We hope you’ll join us and our pals Three Chatty Cats in our blog hop to shine a light on pet adoption. (More details about that below.) 

Today I decided to tell you why I write to save lives. (Last year Lola wrote about her point of view on this subject, which you can read here.) My story may sound a little familiar to many of you because I wrote a post about it on my seventh gotcha day. But this is exactly why I write to save lives. Here’s my story…
