Hello, everyone, this is Lexy checking in. The holiday season is upon us and I have some great tips to get your home Thanksgiving ready for your guests in a jiffy.

  • Clear a place for your guests’ coats and bags.  You can clear a coat rack in your entrance way, or designate a bed as the place for them to drop their belongings.
  • Put on some music. This sets the mood and helps to relax your guests.
  • Adjust the lighting. Turn off bright overhead lights and turn on table lamps and light some candles. This makes everyone feel cozy.
  • Pick up a bouquet of flowers. They add some festiveness to your décor, and they smell nice, too.
  •  Clean the litter box.

That’s right… I added the litter box to my list. Your guests won’t enjoy the succulent turkey or the delectable apple pie with funky litter box odors lingering nearby. That’s why you need to make sure you have ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™ cat litter on hand so you have an odor free home for the holidays. (No matter how many bouquets of flowers you buy, they won’t mask litter box odors.)

I went to PetSmart with Mother to pick up a new box. The Lightweight type fits our lifestyle because we live in a third-floor walk-up and the box is easy for Mother to carry up the steps.

PetSmart carries the entire line of ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™, which includes Clump and Seal, Light Weight and their new Micro Guard, so you can choose the one that works best for you.

ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™ odor sealing litter is the biggest advancement in cat litter history. No other litter forms a tight seal around odor and destroys it with unique odor eliminators and baking soda. Even after you scoop, bacterial odor can keep growing. The innovative, new MicroGuard technology seals and destroys immediate odor, plus, prevents the growth of future bacterial odor. This is just what you need when you have a house full of visitors, many of whom may have sensitive noses.

But odor control doesn’t stop there. The revolutionary, moisture-active micro-granules and baking soda seal and destroy odors up to seven days. That’s right! You can have an odor free home for a week! Give ARM & HAMMER seven days – and you'll experience an odor-free home - guaranteed. It works especially well in multi-cat households like ours.

When you’re shopping for your Thanksgiving feast, don’t forget to throw a box of ARM & HAMMER™ CLUMP & SEAL™ odor sealing litter into your cart.  Your guests will never know there’s a litter box or two in your home.

  1. I used regular clumping A&H for years ... though I was dissatisfied with the clumping power. I switched to another brand and it clumps better but tracks infinitely worse. I'd love to find a compromise ... and I hope this is it!

  2. I like the fact there is a lightweight one. I think anyone with strength issues who has to carry this stuff must be thanking A&H for developing this! I am wondering about trying this for Dusty, he kicks litter EVERYWHERE!! and unless he has a hooded tray WE have a litter caret ;-)

  3. We are just about out of our litter so we are going to tell our human to try this one! We - ok Mosby mostly - get litter everywhere and that doesn't make our human very happy. Maybe a new litter will help decrease the tracking everywhere.

  4. Good review ! Claire doesn't like lightweight litter, because Pixie kicks it and spreads it everywhere. Purrs

  5. The mom is always worried about our litterbox smelling. There's nothing worse than having people over and the litterbox stinks. Thanks for this review.

  6. I wish they would make an unscented version. My Nicky can't tolerate the scents that each one of hear has- they set off a flare up of his ego and he was miserable until I changed it out. :(

  7. Great review, girls! You have some good tips, and you're right about not wanting guests to smell litter box odors.

  8. Great review. I love how you decorated for Thanksgiving.

  9. That's a great review, pals! How's the dust level?

  10. Great review, thank you! Our adopted feral kitty lives outside, but if he ever decides to come in, I'd certainly try this as I've always liked Arm & Hammer products. Cute and festive pics!

  11. If we had cats, we'd totally use this!!

  12. What a cute post for kitty litter! I will say that we personally use the Arm&Hammer brand and we swear by it! We love the MicroGuard version best because it literally smells wonderful!

  13. Nothing worse then walking into a house that smells like a litter box. I had a multi cat household for many years, and whenever I moved I had to find another cat litter that did the job. You'd think all litter was the same, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Thanks for the great info.

  14. Great kitty litter post - we actually purchased this for a friend of ours who shares her life and home with a kitty and she loved it! Couldn't stop raving about it - so we're sold!

  16. Only wish they had all these when I had cats, when I think back on what I went through with the smell during the summers especially phew but thank goodness I did have a balcony

  17. Lol! Yes, always a good idea to remember to clean the box before guests arrive! I like that this litter is lightweight. No need to throw your back out carrying heavy litter - I have done this in the past and it's not fun.

  18. Good idea to address Pet odors for the holidays. The litter box should certainly be on the list!

  21. I follow your list (and have to tidy up papers as work mainly from home) - Really good to include change the litter box as nothing worse than a stinky home with guests.

  22. I know that we become desensitized to odors in our own home, but guests sure notice when a house smells like you have cats. I'm going to check this kitty litter to see if it is something my cat would use.

  23. Wish I had used this when I had a cat. Looks great

  25. Litter box odors can make for some really awkward holiday gatherings. It sounds like this litter can help keep things holly jolly. :) We might be having a few people over for Thanksgiving, so I might just have to try this one!

  26. It's important to have an odor free home when one has visitors during the holidays (or anytime).

  27. Great post! There are some pretty awesome litters out there now. I'll be sure to pick some up to donate to our local shelter as litter is always something they need for the cats waiting to find their forever homes.

  28. Always clean the litter box! ;) We don't have a kitty, but we do donate things to the shelter and will have to check out this brand next time.

  29. Oh I love your list! Getting ready for turkey guests can be stressful so this will put folks at ease for sure. I'll share this with cat loving friends. I cannot believe turkey day is next week!
