Hello, and Happy Thursday Purrsday! Today's throwback goes back to 2011. This wast taken nine and a half months after I moved in. Trust me when I tell you this was a big deal back then! Here are Lexy and me looking out of the living room window.

Lola: Diary Of A Rescued Cat

I wrote this description in my diary: "Here is Lexy and me looking out of the window this again this morning. This time she's sharing with me. OK, I won't lie. She usually shares with me, and Mommy sees us doing this almost every day. We both just love the window. We have a lot of trees outside of our building and we love to watch the leaves blow in the wind. We also have squirrels that jump on the roof next door, and birds! Lots of birds that fly from tree to tree and rooftop to rooftop. We can sit for hours just watching the world."

Now, if you're wondering why this picture was a big deal back then, I'll tell you. But be prepared, because you may be shocked. *takes a deep breath in* Lexy and I didn't get along very well back then. And I mean we didn't get along! So whenever Mommy saw us sitting this close together enjoying the world she grabbed the camera and got a big smile on her face.

I hope you enjoyed today's throwback!

  12. We loved your Throwback Purrsdsy post. Being the last two to be added to the Tribe of Five, my brother Oliver and I know what a wonderful moment it is when the other cat (or cats in our case) decide to accept you. Concatulations on being a part of the family!

  13. How nice you two get along now! Sharing is a big deal. Mr. N can share but he doesn't have to and he enjoys it.

  14. Reminds me of the days at granny's place where we'd sit at an open balcony door and watch it rain or snow and stuff. Cookie isn't much into watching the world go by, she prefers chasing it.

  15. It's amazing how much things can change when you let yourself enjoy the company of others. I know it was hard for you to learn to trust, but you've done so with flying colors. I'm glad you're friends now!

  16. Common interests can bring two "people" together for sure, even if you don't like them :) Chester and Gretel don't dislike each other but Chester prefers she doesn't touch him. But pull out the favorite bed? They cram themselves in there like sardines! Ha. ha.

  17. AW! friendship prevails! I have to deal with a puppy and doggy daycare that hasn't learned his place. I will try to remain patient.

  18. Aw, that's so sweet. I do the same thing; whenever I see my cats near each other and not swatting, I take a picture too!

  24. Our cats have usually got along (eventually). I suspect word gets round that as long as everyone gets along they all get spoiled, and loved and cuddle (if they want..)

It's good to see such a momentous event captured on film!!!

  25. I'm glad that you two get along now! It is really stressful for people when their pets don't get along.

  26. We had to do the same thing in our home with dogs. So much nicer when everyone gets along. :)

  27. Those moments are always so precious. I remember the first time Truffle and Brulee cuddled when Brulee came to live with us. We don't cuddle anymore, so that moment was a moment to treasure.

  28. It's like live t.v. for felines! No popcorn? I'm glad they enjoy spending the time together.

  29. It is always nice to document those special moments when they get along. It is just like human siblings, record when they act like the like each other and treasure it!
