ABOUT

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Lola the Rescued Cat Community!

Hi! I'm Lola, and I was the luckiest cat in the world. At least through my eyes. I made my journey to the Rainbow Bridge on 1/16/24, but before that, I lived a great life. Before being rescued the scariest place I ever found myself was in a dumpster in East Harlem, where someone on the streets of New York City treated me like trash. I was not trash, though. I  was very important and I had important things to say!

This is me in the shelter.

Luckily, someone found me but I was taken to the city shelter where I got very sick. That was another scary place! When I was pulled from the shelter I only weighed 3.2 pounds, but my mom didn’t care. She fell in love with my photo and with me. It didn’t matter that I had a horrible upper respiratory infection. She took me home, nursed me back to health, and I wasn’t scared anymore.

The rest is history. Literally. You can read my whole story in my book, Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat.

My experience inspired me to use my voice to be an advo-cat for all pets. I started doing that through our Facebook page, and then I wrote my book. But I still had more to say! That's when I started this blog with my sister, Lexy, and our mom, Dawn.

Here I am happy in my forever home.

We've been blogging since December 2014 when my book was published.  We are proud to write about different topics that will keep cats and their people happy and educated.

We love writing helpful information about:

Advocacy: We share our passion for rescue and animal welfare and promote responsible pet ownership.

Education: We want cats to be able to live the best life possible with their pet parents. We offer informational posts on health and safety, quality product reviews, and ideas to help keep your pets healthy and make them happy.

Entertainment: I'm excited to have a place where we can share our lives with you. This will include my daily adventures and capers with my sister, Lexy. And of course, the world through our eyes.

This is my sister, Lexy.

Lexy and my Mom keep our blog going so we can continue to help cats. Lexy often likes to share her words of wisdom with our readers. And Mom, well you know that people always have something to say! I still inspire them from the great beyond.

Don't forget, if you'd like to read my entire rescue story, my book is Lola: Diary of a Rescued Cat, In it, I tell how I went from being thrown in a dumpster to being the luckiest cat in the world! Please tell me if you've read it and if you liked it. I'll post your review.

Thank you for being a part of our family.

Love and Purrs,

Lola
