Addiction Pet Food - Review and Giveaway #Sponsored #PetAndPeopleFoodHop

When Mother returned home from BlogPaws, I smelled some deliciousness in the swag bag that I couldn’t wait to get my paws on. I snuck a small bag out, but Mother put it back. When I was finally allowed to delve into the swag bag I was in my glory. Here's a little video so you can see how determined I was.

When I emerged from the swag bag, I came out with a package of Salmon Bleu cat food by Addiction Pet FoodI could not get enough of this food! Every time Mother put it away, I was back in the swag bag taking it out. She finally had to put it where I couldn’t reach it so I wouldn’t gorge myself on it. My only complaint – we only had a small sample packet and it was gone as quickly as I could eat it.  So when the folks at Addiction asked us if we would like to do a review, I answered that email as quick as my paws could type without thumbs.

I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into this Salmon Bleu!

Addiction Foods was co-founded by Jerel Kwek, who was on a mission to find the best, all-natural ingredients in hopes of alleviating his pet's food allergies that caused bumpy, itchy skin and a lack of energy. His journey took him, literally, to the ends of the earth in New Zealand, where he found clean, effective farming and agricultural practices that produce the foods pets want to eat to stay feeling their very best. "First and foremost, I'm a pet owner and, like most owners, I wanted only the best for my pet," said Kwek. "As a family-owned brand, I'm proud that Addiction Foods always puts the health of pets over our profits. We let nothing get in the way of delivering the highest quality, unique foods and treats to benefit dogs and cats across the world and ensure they can live their healthiest, happiest, fullest lives."

Exotic Proteins and Natural Ingredients – What Nature Intended

Addiction's ultra-premium foods are made with the ingredients that nature intended animals to eat, using innovative protein sources, like venison, salmon, kangaroo, eel and brushtail, a marsupial found in New Zealand. Proteins are always humanely raised, antibiotic-free, hormone-free and hypoallergenic to provide a healthier natural solution to prevent allergies from more common proteins found in pet food.

The company also uses only fruits, vegetables and herbs that are harvested at peak freshness and never contain any by-products, fillers or artificial preservatives. In fact, pet owners would be comfortable eating most of what's used in Addiction's foods and likely already have many of the ingredients in their fridges and pantries at home – like cranberries, turmeric, peas, potatoes, flaxseed and green tea.

Eco-friendly

Addiction believes in creating responsible foods that are great for your pets as well as for the environment. We are the first pet food company to pioneer the use of Eco-friendly meats in our efforts to contribute to eco-sustainability. For example, we harvest kangaroos and brushtails, which are considered major agricultural pests, as an alternative to farming traditional meat sources which contribute to deforestation and destruction of the ozone layer. We source only from suppliers that employ sustainable and ethical practices, in line with our eco-friendly philosophy.

Best of the Best

Addiction has earned the stamp of approval by the Whole Dog Journal, Reviews.com and Dog Food Advisor, making the company one of only a handful of brands recognized by all three major pet food authorities. Furthermore, Addiction only uses salmon rated "Best Choice" by the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch, an organization dedicated to ensuring sustainable, safe ocean farming practices. The brand's Salmon Bleu dog, puppy and cat varieties are the only dry foods to use this unmatched quality of salmon.
In addition to dry food, Addiciton Foods also has raw dehydrated and canned food, and also treats! A cat has to have her treats, you know.

The folks at Addiciton Foods are celebrating the dedication pet owners have to involving their dog or cat in every aspect of their lives with the "Ends of the Earth" contest. Pet owners can enter at http://endsoftheearth.addictionfoods.com/ and share their story of how far they've gone for their pets – highlighting the most outrageous adventures and experiences they've embarked on with their furry best friend. Whether enlisting your cat to be the ring bearer in your wedding or hiking up one of the world's tallest mountains with your dog, Addiction will award one grand prize winner with the trip of a lifetime to its home of New Zealand and a six-month supply of Addiction food, treats and other swag. Additional winners will also be selected to win a variety of prize packs full of Addiction food and treats.

As you can see, I love this food.  As a matter of fact, I had to force myself to come up for air so I could finish my review!  I hardly ever go this nuts over food, but there’s something about the Salmon Bleu that I just can’t get enough of. I give Salmon Bleu four paws up for sure! We used their store locator to see where it was available near us and happily we found several stores. And as luck would have it, Mother passes one of the stores on her way to her office.  Serendipitous, yes? Now there are NO excuses for us no to have a supply on hand.

Hold up! This post isn’t over yet! We have a fab giveaway sponsored by Addiction Foods.  We're giving away a 2 lb. box of dehydrated Wild Brushtail and Berries Entree (makes up to 6 lbs. of food), a 6.5 ounce can of Venison and Apple Entree, a 5.5 ounce can of Black Forest Rabbit and Blueberries Entree, a 2 ounce bag of Salmon Bleu dry food, and an Addiction travel bowl! 41. I love everything about this post and this prize. And while I do understand that this is only a comment, and that this is Rafflecopter: Pleasepleaseplease!?

What I mean is... You know that feeling of wanting to give your cat(s) whatever you can, to make their life on this earth as sweet as it can possibly be? I have two heartbreakingly wonderful cats, who rescue me every day-- even though it was I who did the formal adopting. They're my little guys, and I know for sure that they would be ecstatic to receive this paw-some prize.
